FORMAL TOPIC/THESIS PROPOSAL HW:  A proposal briefly states what you will do, and how you will do it – in this case, concerning your thesis/paper.  Every question should be answered with at least 1-3 sentences.

 

1) What do you intend to prove (What is your thesis exactly as approved)?

 

 

2)What subtopics/specific arguments  will you likely focus on?  List at least 3 for first paper (you would really need 6 for real first paper)  or at least 6 for second paper (you would really need 10 for real second paper)? 

 

3) For each of the 3 or 6 specific arguments from 2)above:
A)What sources do you have so far that might give you statistics or date/quantity/specific who-what-when-where quotes? 
B)What sources do you have so far that might give you examples, case studies, specific details or proof type quotes? 

 

4) What is your research strategy? Library first, Internet first, etc.

 

 

5)What problems do you expect to find regarding your research?

 

 

6)What counterarguments do you expect to use (what is the other side’s argument and how will you attack it or defend against it)?

 

7) Write a 1 or 2 paragraph intro using one of the styles from the intro handout (www.newclassroom.com/intro.htm )
